JobScope IQ ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect your personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. Who we are

JobScope IQ is an Australian-developed software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform designed for licensed electricians in Australia and New Zealand. Our service helps electricians perform AI-assisted electrical plan takeoffs, build quotes and manage job scoping.

2. What information we collect

We collect the following categories of personal information:

• Account information: Email address, password (hashed, never stored in plain text)
• Business information: Company name, ABN, electrical licence number, phone, email and address (entered in Branding settings)
• Client data: Client names, addresses and contact details you enter when creating job quotes. This data belongs to you and is never used by us.
• Usage data: Number of AI takeoffs performed per month, timestamps of app activity
• Plan images: Electrical plan images you upload for AI analysis, stored in a private, encrypted storage bucket
• Technical data: Browser type, IP address (used for rate limiting and security only)

3. How we use your information

We use your information solely to:

• Provide and improve the JobScope IQ service
• Process and display your electrical plan takeoffs using AI
• Authenticate your account and maintain session security
• Enforce fair usage limits (50 AI takeoffs per month on the beta plan)
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not display advertising.

4. Data storage and security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS in the Asia-Pacific region). All data is encrypted at rest and in transit using TLS 1.2+. Row-Level Security (RLS) is enforced at the database level — your data is technically inaccessible to anyone other than you, including JobScope IQ staff.

Plan images are stored in a private, access-controlled storage bucket. They are never publicly accessible and can only be retrieved by the account that uploaded them.

5. Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data — including job records, quotes, plan images, branding settings and usage history — is permanently and irreversibly deleted within 30 days.

6. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate personal information
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data (via Settings → Delete account)
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au

7. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate JobScope IQ:

• Supabase — database, authentication and file storage. Privacy policy
• Anthropic — AI analysis of electrical plan images. Images are sent to Anthropic's API and are subject to their privacy policy. Images are not used to train Anthropic's models under our API agreement.
• Vercel — web hosting and deployment. Privacy policy

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies only — specifically Supabase authentication session cookies required for you to stay signed in. We do not use tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies.

9. Notifiable data breaches

In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected users and the OAIC as required under the Privacy Amendment (Notifiable Data Breaches) Act 2017 as soon as practicable.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via an in-app notice. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
